Dear colleagues on Tuesday 8.7 in WBGB 021 we will have 2 progress reports and a short presentation on Multi-objective Optimisation (MOO) with OPAL.
14.00: D. Mayilyan ETH MSc. Measurement of beam energy spread at the SLS storage ring, second progress report
Abstract: First we show the analysis based on individual bpm position data. Afterwards it was decided to merge all 73 bpm data into one graph scaling it with beta values and shifting due to the phase advance. Further data analysis was proceeded with summed data.
Future plans on data analysis will be outlined.
14.30: K. Osipova ETH MSc. Particle-in-Cell (PIC) on the Intel Xeon Phi (MIC), first progress report
Abstract: The OPAL PIC algorithm is based on the FFT and has to be adapted to run on the Intel Xeon Phi. This presentation will outline the first steps taken to solve this task. In the first part, the presentation will provide an introduction to the MIC architecture, and then discuss early results of an Intel FFT example run on the MIC. Finally, the presentation will demonstrate an outline of the FFT part of OPAL and discuss preliminary ideas on how to port it to the MIC.
15.00: A. Adelmann Multi-objective Optimisation (MOO) with OPAL
Abstract: I will give a short introduction how to perform Multi-objective Optimisation (MOO) with OPAL.
In this short lecture we will work through a full fledged example available to everyone with access to Merlin.
The example is relevant to the work of Hui, and Valeria but maybe others can profit as well.
Cheers Andreas
