Below is the schedule of the BD Palaver for Fall 2015 and their tentative topics. There are a few openings if a colleague, or yourself, are interested.

Matched Distributions in Cyclotrons with Higher Order Moments of the Charge Distribution

A general concept of finding stationary distributions with higher order moments is presented. The external magnetic field and defocusing self-field map are obtained in a very general way using Lie Algebra, implemented with Truncated Power-Series Algebra up to any order. In order to achieve better estimates during the iterative process of finding the initial distribution, the Newton-Raphson method is applied with Lagrange multipliers to guarantee physical meaningful results. First results based on the PSI Ring cyclotron are shown.
