Dear Linux Users/...,

in the face of the facts that
* SL6 is already out of vendor support for multiple years
* there are no patches/upgrades available for this operating systems any more
to patch and keep it up to date
* we have to streamline and cleanup the Linux core infrastructure
* free resources to focus on up-to-date operating systems (RHEL8 / RHEL9)
we plan to and are going to retire our remaining SL6 provisioning and
management infrastructure by December 6th 2022.

By this time we will
* shutdown and retire the puppet server psi-puppet3.psi.ch
<http://psi-puppet3.psi.ch/>
* remove and archive all SL6 package repositories (on linux.web.psi.ch
<http://linux.web.psi.ch/>, repo00.psi.ch <http://repo00.psi.ch/>,
repo01.psi.ch <http://repo01.psi.ch/>)

By this time you will not be able to (all of this you shouldn't/cannot do
anyway!):
* install new SL6 systems
* centrally manage/update SL6 systems via Puppet
* push new packages for SL6
* access SL6 packages

If you still depend on these systems please let us know as soon as possible -

We can then discuss and for sure find a suitable solution for you.
