as there is currently no way to inform users of the (remote) data transfer
service (formerly known as ra-export-1 ra-export-2, ra-export-3 and Globus
Online) about changes directly, I'm at least letting you know about the
current changes - in case some problems will hit on your side ;)
( in case you never heard about a data transfer service, or ra-export-1/2/3 ,
Globus doesn't ring a bell - you can stop reading here and forget about this
email =) )
The transfer service was completely overhauled in the last weeks and some
things changed. We now have 2 different set of servers, one set handling the
SSH base transfer and one set for the Globus transfer.
The Globus transfer is now based on Globus 5 and the Endpoint and the Data
Collection(s) to retrieve data have changes. All the details how to retrieve
data via Globus you find here:

The SSH/rsync based transfer service is now accessible via a new DNS name
datatransfer.psi.ch <http://datatransfer.psi.ch/>. The old DNS names people
used will not work any more (we ditched all other names to make things more
generic and clear for the future). So if you hear of people having problems
and/or you know who used to transfer data via ssh/rsync please point them to
the latest version of the documentation at:

Beside ServiceNow people now can also use the email addresses
datatransfer AT psi.ch <mailto:datatransfer AT psi.ch> and/or globus AT psi.ch
<mailto:globus AT psi.ch> to report issues/ask questions/provide feedback/etc..

Finally, in case you know of data transfer usecases that are currently not
handled by this service please let us/me know! We would like to scope this
service in a way that all PSI data can be transferred through it in an easy
and consistent way.
