Dear OPAL users and developers,

due to a major bug in the release candidate 1 we decided to publish a second
release candidate. The following additional improvements have been added to
the repository:
- fixing output of H5Part-file in simulations with follow-up tracks
- fixing number of particles in flat-top part of emitted distributions
- fixing thermal energy for emission model 'None'
- remove delay of emission process (OPAL-T)
- build process adapted to Intel compiler
- allow simulations with multiple SurfacePhysics processes (OPAL-T)

To test the second release candidate pull the code from the repository and
checkout tag/OPAL-1.4.0rc2.

Dear OPAL users and developers,

I just pushed the first release candidate for OPAL 1.4.0 to the repository.
The following new features/improvements can be found in this upcoming version:
- kickers implemented in PARALLEL-T,
- restart from any step and any H5Part file,
- fine-grained control over amount of output in PARALLEL-T,
- array-type TrackRun attributes MAXSTEPS, DT and ZSTOP (currently PARALLEL-T
only),
- statistics file now compliant to SDDS format,
- rewrite of autophase algorithm,
- stand-alone autophase tracker,
- better exception handling,
- follow-up track now working correctly,
- MatchedGauss distribution,
- return type of ElementBase::getType changed to enum which is faster to
compare than strings.

If you have access to the repository and if you have some time you can share
then it would be great if you could test this release candidate and give us
feedback. If all goes well we hope to release the next production version
(including binaries) in four to five weeks.
