Dear colleagues please mark in your calendar the week from Mai 22-26.

We will have a “Multi-objective Optimisation Week” centred around optPilot

the GA engine of OPAL.

Besides of theoretical/conceptional presentations around Multi-Objective Genetic Optimisation and opt-pilot

in particular, we will work on different problems, ranging from cavity shape optimisation to proton therapy

gantry optimisation and as an external guest, Nicole Neveu from ANL will present and work on a tough problem

regarding her PhD topic in optimising the Argone Wakefield Accelerator. Dr. Yves Ineichen will most probable give a lecture

on his former PhD project: “optPilot".

The idea is to have every day, a reserved fixed but limited amount of time for discussion and idea

exchange, focussing on real problems we are working on.

Looking forward to an exiting week.
