We have been building OPAL in Docker for some time now. You can run it on our public JupyterHub. We are also working on integrating it into Sirepo, which uses the same base image. We build RPMs of OPAL and other codes so we can compose the image quickly. This allows us to install our Vagrant/Virtualbox development environments more easily as well. Here's the OPAL build script.
