Hey Finn,
Is there a minimum functioning
example, a FODO lattice perhaps, with known solutions with which I can compare
my results to?
I apologize in advance for the shameless plug...
We don't have a FODO example for OPAL on Sirepo, but there are some simple examples at https://www.sirepo.com/opal
If you are more familiar with MAD-X, you can import a *.madx file directly into Sirepo, and it will be converted to OPAL for you. On the main Simulations page, just click Import in the upper right corner.
Once you have a working example in Sirepo, you can download the OPAL file by clicking on the cog wheel in the upper right and select Python Source or Export MAD-X as lattice. Note: The Python Source is actually just the OPAL file, which is probably more convenient for your purposes.
You will need to register to use Sirepo but otherwise, it's free to use.
Cheers,
Rob
