Hi Simon,

no that doesn't work. You would have to use a 3D field map and an RFCavity element.

Dear all,

Within opal-t:
Can I use the 2DDynamic field maps to implement a changing B-Field?
The manual only shows the case for Ez (or Er), but I would need Bz and Br.
(I am not sure if H_phi was the component I need here, if it is considered at all.)

More information:
I want to simulate a chopper cavity (= rf-cavity with a magnetic field deflecting the beam in transverse direction guiding it over a collimator and therefore 'chops').

I have the cavity in CST and can export and convert the field to opal somehow.

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards

Simon
