Hi Sebastian, the last step should always be in the h5 file if I remember correctly.

However with Monitors you have full control:

Mstart: Monitor, TYPE=TEMPORAL, OUTFN = "Mstart.h5", ELEMEDGE=xxx;
Mend: Monitor, TYPE=TEMPORAL, OUTFN = "Mens.h5", ELEMEDGE=yyy;

Hope that helps,

Cheers A

Hi all,

Is there a quick way to tell OPAL to dump all bunch information into an H5 at the start and the end of a simulation? There is PSDUMPFRQ, but as for my tries it does not necessarily dump on the first step or the last.

I need this for optimizer evaluation where I run a lot of OPAL simulations in parallel (e.g. 64 or even more) and you can imagine that, with a low enough PSDUMPFRQ, the H5 files get enormous. But I only need the first and last step. Actually, I only need longitudinal particle position and particle momentum.

A quick tip would be much apprecciated!
