Hi Fazel, the OPAL algorithms is described in the manual,
please check for standing wave http://amas.web.psi.ch/opal/Documentation/2021.1/#sec.elements.cavity
and for traveling wave http://amas.web.psi.ch/opal/Documentation/2021.1/#sec.elements.travelingwave

Without more information on the exact problem you solving I can not comment on the differences
you see.

I am using opal for a linear accelerator . in this way I only use a gaussian electric field for a RF cavity . but I get different energy in 0.5 MeV in 10 Mev acceleration between two code (opal =10.7 MeV  and in  dynac(cern)=11.3MeV. I have ome question:
first I want to know what algorithm the OPAL use for beam dynamic in cavity? (ttf,or..)
second this different is normal or not?
