Dear all,

I would like to give you some updates regarding the ACSM overview study mentioned in the email below.

First, I thank all research groups that have shown interest in this study. Between 10 and 15 potential datasets from sites spread throughout Europe are already foreseen. If you intend to contribute to our study but you have not sent me an email yet, please write me a short email mentioning your research group, sampling site and data coverage of your ACSM.

Second, given the recent release of the EBAS Export Tool for Q-ACSM (EETQA) developed by Jay Slowik from the PSI, I am kindly asking you to submit your data sets to the EBAS database. I am aware that the data submission to EBAS is more complicated and time-consuming than a submission to the PSI server. After discussion with my colleagues from the JRC, we have therefore decided to extend the deadline for ACSM data submission to EBAS to 31 October 2014. It means that there is only one deadline (31 October 2014) for submitting data related to any ACSM measurements performed before 31 May 2014.

I hope this solution suits you and thank you in advance for your understanding.

All the best,

Michael

Dear all,

Following the last ACSM workshop held in April in Bologna, I am very pleased to inform you that the Joint Research Centre (JRC) intends to write a publication dealing with ACSM measurements at various European sites. The paper will mainly describe the spatial and temporal (daily cycle, seasonal variations, etc.) variability of NR-PM1 chemical composition in Europe. I will work in close collaboration with Jean-Philippe Putaud and Fabrizia Cavalli (JRC) on this subject. I let you attached a short presentation summarizing the discussion we had in Bologna regarding this paper.

If you intend to participate in this study, please read the a priori conditions for a site to considered (slide 4). Please note two important deadlines (slide 6): i) 31 July 2014: submission through EBAS or PSI server of your validated ACSM datasets for measurements performed prior to 31 December 2013, and ii) 31 October 2014: submission through EBAS or PSI server of your validated ACSM datasets for measurements performed between 1 January 2014 and 31 May 2014. Finally please note that the final choice of the ACSM datasets that will be considered in the publication will be made after a first analysis of the submitted data. Co-authorship will naturally be offered to research groups that will provide these selected datasets and help through the construction of the publication.

Feel free to contact me if you need further information.

We look forward to collaborating with you,

Kind regards

Michael
