Colleagues,
Please find below the agenda for our SwissFEL Controls Architecture meeting
tomorrow.
Date/time: Friday 12.04.2013, 2:00 pm.
Location: WBGB 20.
Cheers
Greg
Agenda
------
0. Preliminaries (5 mins, *Greg*).
1. Documentation logistics (15 mins, Greg).
Need to decide on the nominal document format for SwissFEL Controls
documents -
which of Plain Text, Word, HTML or even Enriched Text Format, should be
the standard
document format. Plain text is easy; Word is popular with managers but
cumbersome and
slow to write and slow to get and read; HTML is fast, allows cross
referencing,
but requires a little bit of learning and may be just too big a step for
the
organization.
Note that we have set up a PSI intranet wiki site for document references
and coordination [1],
and an Alfresco document site for documentation storage [2].
2. First look at the development environment of SwissFEL Controls, 85 mins.
From the SWISSFEL PHYSICS ENVIRONMENT DEVELOPMENT WORK ITEMS [3], part 3,
we
should at least attack CVS or SVN, and software distribution. That is,
whiteboard how a matlab program gets from physicists desktop computer to
all
control room consoles, and how SOA middleware is created, distributed and
hosted.
