Hello

We are currently having some strange package dependency issues within the
RHEL8 repos we sync from Redhat. The problem is not yet fully understood but
we are quite sure that the problem was introduced by some upstream change of
Redhat.

The result of this is that new installations of RHEL8 will __not__ work if
you are using to the latest repo tag, e.g. rhel-8 . If you need to do an
installation you have to fix the repo tag for the machine to
rhel-8.8-2023-07-18-00
(https://repos.psi.ch/rhel8/tags/rhel-8.8-2023-07-18-00/). This is the last
tag from which a installation will be successful.

in hiera add:
rpm_repos::tag:
redhat8: 'rhel-8.8-2023-07-18-00'

We keep you posted once we were able to fix the problem.
