This issue has been fixed on the RPM repository server. No special repository tags are needed any more.

The result of this is that new installations of RHEL8 will __not__ work if

installation you have to fix the repo tag for the machine to

(https://repos.psi.ch/rhel8/tags/rhel-8.8-2023-07-18-00/). This is the last
tag from which a installation will be successful.

in hiera add:
rpm_repos::tag:
redhat8: 'rhel-8.8-2023-07-18-00'
