One other thing to note, the Enge coefficients define the magnet's fringe field, which are responsible for edge focusing. If you input a hard edge magnet, you will not get the correct edge focusing.

Hi Chris,

How crucial is it for SBEND elements in OPAL-T to have a FMAPFN that contains
the Enge coefficients? As it stands, OPAL won't run without this file.
What I am asking, is if some things like the gap and the field integral can
be specified in-line with the element definition, instead of requiring a file.
This is currently not available in OPAL-T.

Also, if nothing is specified, what is wrong with having a hard-edged magnet?

I do not know what's happen if you set the Enge coefficients to mimic a
hard-edge magnet,
however I can imagine that maybe the CSR or integration routine having
problems.
