Hello Bettina if you are emitting, you specify a number of
energy bins (NBIN) on the distribution. MINSTEPFORREBIN defines
the minimal number of integration steps until we rebin i.e. NBIN=1.
This will go away soon and the only the minimal energy spread controls the
rebinding process. MINSTEPFORREBIN is problem dependent.

Dear all,
I’m just starting off to use OPAL, and do not
find any explanation in the manual about the
‘MINSTEPFORREBIN’ parameter. It has a huge influence, though
on the sigmas of my beam from the cathode.
What does it do? Which are common values to use?
Thanks,
Bettina
