Hi John, great that you consider OPAL.

Checkout the following webpage https://amas.psi.ch/OPAL for general information on OPAL including the manual.

The binaries can be downloaded here https://amas.psi.ch/OPAL/wiki/Downloads
To get started I think using the rebuild binaries is a good idea. OPAL is open source so you -- of
course — can always request the src. At the moment this needs a PSI account which is no problem,
just tell me if it is time to get involved with development.

You find some lectures on OPAL with example at this location: https://amas.psi.ch/OPAL/wiki/OPAL

Checkout our regression test webpage (OPALRegTests) where you find many test. You will probable interested
in the PSIGUN-1, a photo rf gun test. Here we could easily add some TW Structures to meet your needs. In order
to get you an idea I attached the input file of this test. Be aware that the field maps are missing however I can send
them later if that is what you need.

Do not hesitate to to ask if there are more questions, I am more than happy to help you get started properly and in time!

Cheers Anreas

Hi OPAL'ers,

I have a student starting this summer and would like her to learn OPAL-T (and eventually contribute to its development later: possibly wakefields and CSR) to simulate our 75 MeV RF photoinjector beamline {RF photocathode (Cs2Te) gun followed by some accelerating cavities with the usual elements, quads, dipoles, solenoids, RF deflecting cavity; superfish for RF cavites; poisson for solenoids); I am a PARMELA/windows user.}

-What is the best way to get started?
-Does anyone have an input file they could share?
-Is there a community of rf photoinjector OPAL-T users?

Thanks,
John
