Dear John, I suggest that you build OPAL-1.4.0 this is the released version. There is

a branch called OPAL-1.4 and a tag  OPAL-1.4.0.

In case you want to do development you can clone the master and get OPAL-1.5.0.x.

However, this is of course the unstable version and it is in your responsibility 

to keep up with changes made in this branch. This you can do from https://gitorious.psi.ch/.

Does that make sense?
