Dear OPAL-Team,

I am currently working with 3D fieldmaps in OPAL-t. Following the manual the expected columns are Ex Ey Ez Hx Hy Hz with E[MV/m] and H[A/m].

From CST I can extract these fieldmaps but I can only obtain the E-field at phase 0° and the H-field at phase 90° (i.e. I only get the imaginary part of H while the real part is 0; for the E-field it's the other way around).

I am now wondering if that was a more general issue concerning 3D-fieldmap imports:
I can now use the non-vanishing columns ReEx ReEy ReEz ImHx ImHy ImHz. But does OPAL add a 90°-shift between the H- and E-field automatically when one uses "3DDynamic"?

If not, I was thinking of using two separated fieldmap files one containing the E-field and the other containing the (imaginary) H-field. Then I'd place both in two RFCAVITY elements located at the same Z-coordinate and use LAG=PI/2 as a phase shift for one of them. [The idea is then also to use APVERTO=TRUE so that the autophase algorithm does not change the phase between of both elements.]

If you find the time, I am looking forward to reading your opinion on that approach.
