Hi Philippe,

indeed it is not very intuitive to use a solenoid element. That's why I opened an issue, see here: https://gitlab.psi.ch/OPAL/src/issues/562 .

The normalization of the field isn't implemented in the solenoid element but in the field map. However you should be able to switch off the normalization, see here https://gitlab.psi.ch/OPAL/documentation/manual/blob/master/fieldmaps.asciidoc#sec.fieldmaps.normalization in sector A.3.

It is just a bit "unnatural" to use the solenoid element as the scaling imposed via KS seems to be using Bz has a renormalization (while I am playing with some arbitrary 3D maps that have very weak Bz field the field component of interest are B_x, and B_y).
