Dear Colleagues,

I just committed some changes to OPAL-T. Most were bug fixes, but one change will affect those who use bending magnets, especially if you have a chicane compressor modelled.

For one of our projects I needed to model a vertical bending chicane and found that the way vertical bending RBENDs were implemented wasn't giving me correct results. Now, if you want a bending magnet with a field in a direction other than the positive y direction, you can do so. This is described in the users manual. Basically, OPAL-T can now rotate a dipole about the z axis so that the field points in any direction in the x-y plane.

Note, however, that if you are currently using OPAL-T to model a chicane compressor, you will need to modify your input file and change the sign of the parameter(s) ALPHA for the inner dipole(s).

Best regards

Steve
