I am also working on the same problem, modelling the AWA EEX beamline at Argonne. I played around with your files and I would also like to point out that your time step is rather large at 10 ps. I was able to solve the "beam splitting" issue by reducing the time step to 1 ps. If you would like to collaborate our efforts shoot me an email.Ryan

Sofar the algorithm that adapts the default field map to a specific dipole doesn't check whether they overlap. In future versions this will be fixed (working on it).
